General Information
What is KindaDek?
KindaDek is a composite decking made from recycled plastic and reclaimed wood. It combines the best attributes of wood and plastic making it the ideal choice for outdoor use.
What is the composition of KindaDek?
KindaDek is 50% wood and 50% plastic.
What finishes/colours of KindaDek deck boards are available?
KindaDek deck boards are reversible with large grooves and wood print on reverse. Colours available are Redwood, Green, Grey, Chestnut and Natural.
Will the colour of KindaDek change?
KindaDek will change (fade) colour slightly after 12 weeks exposure to the sunlight and water due to the natural weathering process of wood and polymer content.
What size and length does KindaDek come in?
We currently have our standard size of 140 X 24mm. Standard lengths 4.88LM & 3.66LM for the UK market.
Is KindaDek deck slippery like timber?
No. KindaDek provides a good slip-resistant surface – wet or dry. It has been tested to British Standard BS7976 and passed.
What is the reaction of KindaDek to fire?
KindaDek has a much higher ignition than wood. Its Self-ignition Temperature is 450°C / 840°F, thus it is less likely to catch fire. KindaDek has been tested by Warrington Fire Service, the UK leading fire-testing facilities and passed BS476 Part 7 rating.
Maintenance
How long KindaDek can be used?
KindaDek comes with 25 years warranty against splintering, splinting, rot, decay and termite damage.
Do I need to treat, paint or stain KindaDek?
No. KindaDek is highly resistant to rotting, splintering and decay damage. It doesn't require any traditional timber treatment for protection and comes with a UV colour pigment.
Will KindaDek suffer from rotting, splintering and decay damage like traditional wood?
No. Due to the extremely low moisture absorption, water cannot pose any deteriorating threat to KindaDek.
KindaDek is grooved, are they easy to clean?
Yes. Most heavy stains, dirt and mildew can be washed off by using a common deck cleaner available from most builder’s merchants and DIY stores.

Oil, grease and stubborn stains may require a de-greasing cleaner or light sanding to remove the stain. Keeping the deck clean, free of debris and maintaining drainage and ventilation gaps should allow for the minimum of maintenance.

Do not allow leaves and other debris to lie on the deck surface as this will cause staining and promote mildew growth. This can be easily removed by power washing but not over 1500psi.
